Facade/entrance in The Millennials Kyoto

The location was central and not far from Gion. The capsule was comfortable and modern with light switches and outlets for charging. There is space under the bed for the luggage. The shared bathrooms were clean with amenities. The beer hour was fun and I met some people and went out for dinner and drinks with them. The shared space is bright and sociable and the kitchen was useful if you want to bring your own food. Breakfast is eaten in the shared area.

Breakfast in The Millennials Kyoto

I have been in Kyoto 5 times and stayed in the Millennials for 3 times. As long as I travel alone, the Millennials is always my first choice. The convenience and the location is awesome, staff are always smiling and helpful. For all of these the price is really good! I really love this place and would absolutely recommend it.

Breakfast in The Millennials Kyoto

Best capsule hostel I stayed in so far! Prime location in central Kyoto so everything around Gion, Kawamarachi, etc was walkable. The beds were amazing and everything was super clean. The 8th floor during free beer hour is great for meeting people. Wish this hostel would exist in more cities!

Property building in The Millennials Kyoto

I liked everything. I travelled by now 50 countries and stayed in many hostels and this one is in my opinion one of the best. the location is perfect, the service amazing, the staff friendly and so many ammenities. You can exchange your towels as often as you need to. the communal area is great. The workspace is perfect for remote work, they have social drinks in the evening and free water refill in the kitchen. The sleeping pods are very smart organised and built. what i especially likes is that there is no sound or light polution in the pod so the sleep is great. The bathrooms were also great, enough toilets and showers and a good washing area with sinks, hair dryers and mirrors. Additionally there was a laundry maschine directly in the dorm.

Breakfast in The Millennials Kyoto

I stayed here as a solo female traveler for my spring break! It was very clean and quiet. The facilities, like shower, bathroom and shared kitchen, were easily accessible and well maintained. I was a bit worried about my things - there’s only a very small locker under your bed, and the rest is a sliding drawer for your suitcase - since the area underneath cannot be locked so your suitcase isn’t ‘secure.’ However, I had no issues with this during my stay! I just pulled down the curtain to my room completely every time I left and I never found my things tampered with or stolen! Every morning starting at 7:30, they serve breakfast for ¥800 which is quite yummy - all you can eat bread and soup! The staff were kind and helpful as well. The location is great for shopping as well.

Lounge or bar in The Millennials Kyoto

Location is on the main st of Kyoto with plenty of options for food and shopping, size of the capsule given it is a capsule style hotel although not the typical. The bed changing to sofa to allow room to change was handy instead of having to do it in the hall or take clothes to bathroom and the slide out luggage tray under bed was great, plenty of room. Plenty of opportunity to interact with other guests in the communal areas, free beer for an hour certainly brings everyone together. Having bike hire on site very handy. Staff also rung my next next hotel to confirm okay to forward luggage for them to accept instead of me plundering through the language barrier, much appreciated!

Lobby or reception in The Millennials Kyoto

There are plenty of amenities. You can take a fresh towel at the lobby, which is very convenient. In the late afternoon there is a happy hour where you can get a free beer and chat with other people. The location in the city is central, it is easy to get around. I would certainly recommend The Millenials to friends if they come visit Kyoto.

Facade/entrance in The Millennials Kyoto

I’ve stayed at this hostel before, and once again, it was an amazing experience. The beds and shower rooms are spacious and clean, and the overall design is modern, stylish, and thoughtfully laid out. It’s a very traveler-friendly hostel, but also quite popular among digital nomads thanks to the co-working space available on-site making it ideal for anyone working while on the move. The location is very central, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the price is excellent for what you get. Whether you’re here for leisure or work, this place ticks all the boxes.

Facade/entrance in The Millennials Kyoto

location is ideal, minutes to Gion as well as Harajuku, the main commercial center. Walking distance to many temples (inc. Kiyomizu-dera) and public transportation at the door for further temples and Arashiyama. Free-beer concept is smart marketing. Free amenities inc: bath towels, toothbrush/paste, razor & cream, ear plugs, comb, q-tips, tissues and slippers; friendly staff provide amenity top-ups. Bathtub located at the last shower cubicle. Shower gel is nice. I’d skip breakfast. pj’s are rented. Millennials is an established joint, so it definitely needs a spruce-up or revamp (the capsules, finicky projector ports, sofas, entrance). Nevertheless, the millennials is the best place to stay in Kyoto for its central location and super-chilled out vibe! ~i stayed a week and I’d definitely stay here again :)
