location is ideal, minutes to Gion as well as Harajuku, the main commercial center. Walking distance to many temples (inc. Kiyomizu-dera) and public transportation at the door for further temples and Arashiyama. Free-beer concept is smart marketing. Free amenities inc: bath towels, toothbrush/paste, razor & cream, ear plugs, comb, q-tips, tissues and slippers; friendly staff provide amenity top-ups. Bathtub located at the last shower cubicle. Shower gel is nice. I’d skip breakfast. pj’s are rented. Millennials is an established joint, so it definitely needs a spruce-up or revamp (the capsules, finicky projector ports, sofas, entrance). Nevertheless, the millennials is the best place to stay in Kyoto for its central location and super-chilled out vibe! ~i stayed a week and I’d definitely stay here again :)

Staff was really great in both locations: Tokyo and Kyoto. In Tokyo the staff helped me find a doctor and in both locations staff helped with the taxi. Really nice and very good English. About the hotel: the rooms are ventilated which is great for a good night sleep. Bathrooms are just spotless. Extremely clean. Towels can be changed after each use. I like that the restrooms are separated from the showers and there are plenty of sinks. Shower rooms are perfect size. You even have a designed area where to leave your clothes. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioners are premium quality. Location: excellent! Walkable distance to Gion and to the subway station. Loads of restaurants and shops around the area. Everything was top! If I ever go back to Japan I know where I'm staying.

I had an incredibly beautiful stay. Everything was clean and orderly. Everything is labeled very clearly, making it easy to follow the customs. The large common area was very pleasant, and there were always free spots available. The rooms/beds are very comfortable, and all my belongings fit both under the bed (in a drawer) and on the shelf. It was easy to sleep well at night. However, with so many people, there were occasional noises at night (rustling, coughing, rearranging bags, etc.). Therefore, I recommend taking earplugs, but overall, I was very satisfied.

The pods are really big (double bed instead of the typical capsule hotel twin) with luggage storage under the bed and a shelf above the bed. Obviously the folding bed is also super fun, and I liked the alarm functions (turn the lights on and/or elevate the bed at wake up time). The facilities are also pretty nice especially for remote workers with a whole workspace and lounge/kitchen that travelers use and socialize in at all hours. There’s also free beer daily from 5:30-6:30. Wifi is strong throughout the hotel.

Genuinely everything -- facilities were great, staff were great, amenities were great. The beds had special reclining feature to go into sofa mode, and some pods had projectors. What??? Also, though it was pod style, it was really comfortable and didn't feel cramped or claustrophobic. I loved the design (you keep your luggage under the bed in a slide out which is super convenient). I ended up extending because I loved it so much. Also, great location!
